Calcium lactate is produced from high quality biofermented natural L (+)lactic acid as main raw material.  With the features of high solubility, high bioavailability, good taste, and high purity , L-Calcium lactate is a sort of excellent calcium source for the industries of beverage, food, medicine etc.The product is a sort of white, odorless, flavorless powder.  lt can be clearly dissolved by water with a solubility of9g/100g.  The pH value of the aqueous solution is

6-8 and insoluble in grain alcohol and ether.   Each molecule contains4.5 molecules of water of crystallization.  
its molecular formula is Ca(CH3CHOHCOO)2.4.5H20, with a molecular weightof 218.22(anhydrous).
