Product Description

Factory Supply Ammonium Lactate CAS 515-98-0
Brief Introduction
Ammonium lactate is a compound with the chemical formula NH4 (C2H4 (OH) COO). It is the ammonium salt of lactic acid. It has mild antibacterial properties. Its E number is "E328", and it is the active ingredient of skin care lotion Amlactin and Lac Hydran. Ammonium lactate is a chemical combination of lactic acid and ammonium hydroxide. It is used as a skin moisturizing lotion to treat dry, scaly and itchy skin. People using it should avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial ultraviolet rays, such as sun lamps or tanning beds. Ammonium lactate makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight and more prone to sunburn.

Skin function
From a chemical perspective, ammonium lactate is formed by the combination of ammonium hydroxide or ammonium salt with lactic acid or lactic acid. Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that has a peeling or exfoliating effect when applied to the skin. In ammonium lactate, ammonium hydroxide can reduce the acidity of lactic acid, but the compound still falls off, helping to treat scaly, dry, and thickened skin. Ammonium lactate also has hygroscopicity, which means that when used topically, it can help the outermost layer of the skin, known as the stratum corneum, absorb moisture. Generally, the instructions for using externally applied cream or lotion containing ammonium lactate are to apply it to clean, dry skin twice a day. This product should be carefully and thoroughly applied to the affected area and should not be used for cracked, excessively dry, sunburned, or freshly shaved skin. In some cases, drug containing solutions may cause a sharp or burning sensation. It is recommended to wash hands before and after use.
